August Already?

It's been a such a fun summer and it has completely flown by! After our Steamboat Springs trip we kept busy with summer activities.  James and I were able to get away to Lake Tahoe for our 10th anniversary and it was amazing. We've had a few visitors here and there and I go back to school in one week!

The kids are starting to really enjoy each other.  Anderson pays more attention to Charlotte and she loves every minute of it.  Anderson is potty trained (for the most part) and will start preschool in a few weeks.  He says the funniest things and is such a boy. Charlotte is a busy little girl and is almost crawling.  If there's something she wants, she finds a way to get it! She loves to play with her toys and in her crib.

We are going to enjoy the rest of the summer with our kids. Kids seem to make time go faster and faster!

Summer Fun in the Mountains

We had a fun time in Steamboat Springs over the 4th. It's just always relaxing to be on vacation, especially in the mountains.  We hiked, ate breakfast outside in the mornings, and relaxed in the hot tub in the evenings. The kids did great with sleeping  too.  Anderson's favorite part was taking the gondola up to the top of the mountain to have brunch.  He talked about it the entire trip and he still continues to talk about it!

Summer is going way too fast! Charlotte loves to sleep in until 9:00 some days but Anderson is usually up by 7:30.  He's just way to excited about life to go back to sleep.  He's still been challenging but is starting to talk about his feelings a little more.  At this point, he is the challenging one and Charlotte is the easy one!

Busy!

We're really enjoying our summer although it's been hot, especially for Denver.  It seems like we are busy every day doing something fun and James and I are getting out with friends and with each other quite a bit too.  Charlotte has been the easiest baby and loves to be out and about with the action.  Anderson has not been easy this summer! He's definitely going through some developmental changes and has been very challenging.  He will turn 3 in September and I've heard that 3 is actually worse than 2. We're in trouble! We've wondered lately where our sweet guy has been. He has his moments but anything can lead to epic tantrums and he isn't a good listener.  If anyone has tips, please feel free to share.  We are trying to help him use words to express his emotions and he gets his fair share of time outs.  He has even been waking a time or two at night.  Charlotte sleeps all night until 8:30-9:00 but Anderson is up bright and early.  We think that he's not getting enough sleep and that's contributing to his split personality problem.

We are still taking everything in stride and trying to enjoy his good moments.  We are taking a trip to Steamboat Springs over the 4th and are excited to be up in the mountains.

A fun family/friend hike.

Anderson LOVES the water!

A few hours at the pool.

Charlotte is always chewing on something. She has her two bottom teeth now!

She isn't a fan of baby food.

She fusses, gags, and spits it out.  We'll keep trying!

Summer!

Since it's summer, I'll try to post a little more.  The kids are growing and changing so fast! Charlotte is almost 6 months old and in a few months Anderson will be 3!

James and I went to Portland while my wonderful parents stayed with Anderson and Charlotte. It was a wonderful weekend and the best part was having no responsibilities for a few days! Other than the half marathon, we traveled along the Columbia River and went to a few wineries/breweries.  It was great!

This summer will be full of playing outside, play dates, camping (we'll see how the first trip goes), staying up in the mountains, company, gymnastics and music class for Anderson, and just enjoying a little leisure.  Anderson's favorite thing is to get up in the morning and watch a little t.v. with his pajamas still on. It's nice to not be in a rush in the mornings.

Beautiful!

Perfect day for a hike.

Easter

It has been such a wonderful weekend.  James and I both feel like the best weekend we've had since Charlotte came home from the hospital in December.  Things are so much easier now and we really loved celebrating Easter with our sweet kids.  On Friday night we started our weekend with a night out at a wine bar.  It was nice to see James after he got home from work travel on Thursday.  On Saturday we got up early and went to an Easter egg hunt (it literally lasted 30 seconds) and to ride the Bunny Train at the CO train museum.  Anderson loved it and loved the Easter Bunny.  He thoroughly enjoyed the candy in his eggs.  Boy does he have a sweet tooth.  We don't have sweets often but when we do he begs and begs for them.  Saturday night we enjoyed some BBQ and relaxed.  On Sunday we went to church, played outside, and went to our friends' house for Easter dinner.  In between all the fun, we also found time for cleaning, working in the yard, runs, and bike rides.  With two kids, we have found that you almost have to utilize every spare minute to accomplish things around the house and stay in shape. I keep seeing fun Pinterest items that people have made and now I need to find time to make some fun things. That's next on my list.

I'm going to squeeze in a few pics from our spring break trip to Houston too..

Yay, an airplane. Anderson got his own seat!
